Rochester Police Department

Mission Statement

“To work with the public to improve the quality of life in the community.”

About Us

The Rochester Police Department consists of three Divisions: Patrol, Investigations, and Services. Each Division provides community focused law enforcement protection to Rochester’s 110,000+ citizens.

From uniformed Patrol to Investigative follow up, the men and women of the Rochester Police Department are committed to improving the safety of our community while operating under the Intelligence Led Policing philosophy of reducing and disrupting crime through the targeting of prolific and serious offenders.

An essential element of this philosophy is the formation of partnerships within the community. The Rochester Police Department’s 137 sworn officers and 59 civilian employees work each day to achieve this goal; however, we can’t be successful on our own. Businesses and citizens willing to partner with the Rochester Police Department are critical to achieving our mission of improving the quality of life in Rochester.
